Except where noted, the handbook's text, original diagrams, charts, checklists, specifications, and templates are copyright © 2016–2026 Tashi Trieu and licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License. This applies to the web, PDF, EPUB, and Markdown editions.

You may copy, redistribute, translate, and adapt the material for any purpose, including commercial use. When sharing it:

  • Credit Tashi Trieu and name the handbook.
  • Link to the handbook and the license.
  • Identify any changes.
  • License adaptations under CC BY-SA 4.0 or a compatible license.
  • Do not add legal or technical restrictions that prevent uses allowed by the license.

Third-Party Material

The handbook cites standards, books, manufacturer documentation, software documentation, and other external sources. It also contains short attributed quotations. Those works are not relicensed under CC BY-SA 4.0. Their rights remain with their respective owners.

Product names, company names, and trademarks belong to their owners. Their use does not imply endorsement. Patent, trademark, privacy, publicity, and other rights may apply separately from copyright. Confirm that your intended reuse is permitted.

Website Software

The software used to publish the website retains its own license:

  • The original download landing-page code is licensed under the MIT License.
  • MkDocs and Material for MkDocs retain their upstream open-source licenses.
  • Pandoc and the other tools used to build offline editions retain their upstream licenses.

These software licenses do not change the CC BY-SA 4.0 license applied to the handbook.
